The Florida Chapter of the International Women’s Forum (IWF) hosted the inauguration of its 2024 board during an installation ceremony on Monday, Jan. 8, at the JW Marriott Miami.

Lucy Morillo, Esq., a dedicated board member with a longstanding commitment to the organization, was installed formally as president, succeeding outgoing president Danet Linares. Morillo will serve a two-year term, during which she will lead and collaborate with a distinguished board of diverse and accomplished women.

The International Women’s Forum (IWF) is an invitation-only network of the most accomplished women in the world. The organization connects women leaders across every professional sector in support of each other and the common mission of advancing women’s leadership and championing equality worldwide.

Established in New York City in 1974, today IWF is comprised of over 8,000-plus preeminent women leaders in 33 countries and 76 local Forums. IWF is the only organization of this scale that builds significant relationships between C-level women across countries and careers.

Members are inventors, entrepreneurs, CEOs, heads of state, academics, scientists, astronauts, Olympic athletes, artists, filmmakers, financiers, philanthropists, and more. The Florida Forum of IWF consists of more than 200 women of significant achievement.

IWF Florida members gathered to inaugurate the new board and commemorate the outstanding contributions of their colleagues over the past year. Esteemed members, including Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, warmly welcomed Morillo as the newly appointed president. With a room filled with exemplary women, the gathering provided an inspiring setting for celebrating leadership and nurturing connections among women achievers.

“I am deeply honored to lead this community of high-achieving women leaders,” Morillo said. “I look forward to fostering alliances, promoting mentorship, and advocating for women’s leadership, setting an example for the next generation. The IWF sisterhood is truly unique, and I feel blessed to have the opportunity to lead such an extraordinary group of women.”

Morillo is an accomplished attorney, community leader, and serial entrepreneur with decades of executive experience in the business, private equity and non-profit sectors. Her remarkable career includes holding leadership roles at the University of Miami and Miami Children’s Hospital Foundation, where she played pivotal roles in transformative campaigns.

As the current president and CEO of Miami-based UrbanX, a wholly owned subsidiary of Global Crossing Airlines Group, Morillo leads a team at the forefront of integrating urban air mobility in South Florida, introducing electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft (eVTOL).

She stands as one of the few Hispanic female CEOs in the aviation and urban air mobility space, and holds key positions on several influential advisory boards, including the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Advanced Air Mobility Advisory Committee (AAMAC), the International Aviation Women’s Association (IAWA), and EVE’s Air Mobility Advisory Board.

Beyond her role at UrbanX, Morillo is a principal and co-founder of LM & Associates (LMA), a women-owned marketing and communications firm supporting socially conscious brands.

She also is the co-owner and publisher of S Revista, a luxury lifestyle publication that has quickly become the preeminent magazine for Spanish speakers in the United States.
