Luminosa at Jungle Island continues through Mar. 7
In the Egypt zone, guests travel back in time with vivid recreations of the Abu Simbel Temple, Valley of Kings, a majestic Sphinx, and the Karnak Temple.

Jungle Island, in collaboration with LEKTRIK Art, continues its popular Luminosa festival, now is its fourth year, through Mar. 7.

The spectacular outdoor light festival features towering, three-dimensional, illuminated sculptures and handcrafted silk lanterns, all part of a new design and production for 2025. Each piece is entirely handmade, transforming Jungle Island into a wonderland of glowing animals, mythical creatures, and fantastical landscapes.

This year’s nighttime event takes guests on an illuminated journey across some of the world’s most mystical ecosystems, from the Amazon rainforest to African savannahs, featuring cutting-edge animatronics, holograms, and interactive storytelling, unlike any other light festival in Miami.

“Luminosa 2025 represents our most ambitious and immersive festival yet,” said Jeremy Hauwelaert, president and CEO of Jungle Island. “Time and again, our guests tell us it feels like stepping into a fairytale and that Luminosa is unlike anything they’ve ever experienced. That’s when you know you’ve created something truly special for Miami. What we’ve planned for this year’s theme is next level, and I can’t wait to see the excitement and wonder it brings to everyone who visits.”

Journey through mystical worlds
The festival takes visitors on an illuminated trail through mystical themed lands that represent different ecosystems, creating an unprecedented immersive experience where guests become part of the story unfolding around them. The typical visitor spends hours exploring the magical landscape, with countless Instagram-worthy video opportunities at every turn.

Festival highlights include a towering parrot archway that welcomes guests into a glowing world of wonder, and a magnificent 43-foot-tall Chinese dragon that anchors the Gateway of the Dragon Emperor. Deep in the Jaguar’s Temple, an ancient jaguar mysteriously emerges from the shadows, while the Great Baobab Grove features three luminous 19-foot-tall baobab trees. Towering capybara lanterns illuminate the Colorful Amazon, blending whimsy with wonder.

In the Egypt zone, guests travel back in time with vivid recreations of the Abu Simbel Temple, the Valley of Kings, a majestic Sphinx, and the Karnak Temple.

The Savannah Oasis invites visitors to create interactive water ripples among life-sized zebra and elephant lanterns, while the Dance of the Flamingos delivers a full sensory spectacle with projection-mapped marshes and sound-activated light shows.

Visitors embark on a luminous journey through a magical winter landscape, where glowing snow paths, silver-lit wolves, and radiant pawprints guide the way. The trail leads to a shimmering frozen lagoon filled with lantern whales and jellyfish, then into an enchanting tunnel of glowing ice whales. The journey culminates at a glowing iceberg crowned by a majestic polar bear beneath the aurora, surrounded by radiant frozen trees. Finally, guests
are welcomed by a grand wall of intricately carved ice, immersing them in the awe and wonder of a sparkling Frozen Kingdom.

Immersive experiences for all
The artistic lantern scenes will illuminate Jungle Island with more than 160 tons of steel, 200,000 feet of silk-like fabric, 58,000 LED bulbs, and 720,000 feet of LED light strips. The
final design features more than 37 monumental, handcrafted lamp scenes created by over 200 people from around the world, including Chinese artists, graphic global designers, welders, and seamstresses.

“Each year, we push the boundaries of what’s possible in immersive entertainment,” said Justin Corsa, CEO of LEKTRIK Art LLC., the original designer and producer of Luminosa.

“We’ve created mystical worlds that feel alive, where global legends meet cutting-edge technology. The result is an experience that’s not just Instagram-worthy, it’s transformative.”

This outdoor experience operates rain or shine, with covered areas available throughout the venue. Adult tickets range from $25.90 to $39.90. Child tickets (ages 4-12) range from $17.90 to $27.90. Family bundles and group rates are available, with discounts for seniors, students, and military personnel. Tickets include a complimentary acrobatic performance.
