The Marian Center School & Services is proud to announce Elena DiCiccio as a nominee for the prestigious LifeChanger of the Year Award, which honors educators who make a profound and lasting impact on the lives of their students.
“Elena is a vibrant and dedicated special education teacher. She sees something special in each student—and they see her special ability too,” said Sr. Lidia Valli, Principal at Marian Center School & Services. “Her work reflects the heart of our mission and the love we strive to bring into our classrooms every day. This is the reason, I nominated her for the award.”
With over 14 years of experience as a special educator, Ms. DiCiccio is a true LifeChanger for students with intellectual disabilities. She listens deeply, observes thoughtfully, and acts with purpose. She sees each student as an individual—recognizing their unique talents, gifts, and potential. Her expectations are high, and her connection with students is genuine, concrete, and spiritual.
One powerful example of her impact is the way she welcomed a nonverbal student with significant behavioral challenges into her classroom. Through extraordinary patience, resilience, and compassion, Ms. DiCiccio transformed daily challenges into meaningful opportunities for growth. As a result of her dedication, this student is now calmer, happier, learning, and thriving.
Ms. DiCiccio’s work reflects the very heart of the Marian Center’s mission and serves as an inspiration to colleagues, families, and the broader community.
