Mast Capital has announced the near completion of a multi-million dollar renovation to the Conrad Brickell, a trophy hotel situated within the iconic Brickell Arch Tower that occupies an entire block within Miami’s vibrant Financial District.
Mast Capital engaged renowned interior design firm Champalimaud to transform the public spaces and amenities, meeting spaces, corridors and guestrooms. The renovation is on schedule to be finished by December.
Additionally, a new culinary experience under the direction of Chef Pablo Lamon, called Nativo Kitchen + Bar (NKB), will showcase Miami Cuisine, which is flavorful, diverse, colorful and impacted by Latin American influences. Acclaimed Chef Pablo Lamon, born and raised in Bueno Aires and a graduate of Mausi Sebess, was recently on Season 16 of Top Chef, has been invited to cook at the James Beard House and has been involved in the operation of the Matador Room in Miami Beach, Employees Only, 27 Restaurant & Bar and the Broken Shaker.
Champalimaud’s design approach sought to converge the impressive architectural components of the skyscraper with the heartbeat of Downtown Miami and the pulse and playfulness of Miami Beach. The result are renovated interiors that create an elevated guest experience for the business traveler and a respite in an unexpected place for the transient guest. The design is a departure from the corporate and business hotels in the area with an emphasis on rich colors inspired by local flora, neutral palates and soft geometric shapes.
“We’re excited to be partnering with Mast Capital and Conrad Hotels & Resorts on this project,” said Winston Kong, partner at Champalimaud.
“We wanted to create a business hotel experience unmatched by any other in the area; a place inspired by Miami’s natural environment and offers a resort-like urban respite to its guests,” he added.
“With these inspired, high-end changes, we are bringing the Conrad Miami into the future and energizing the food and beverage offerings for locals and visitors,” said Camilo Miguel Jr., CEO of Mast Capital. “The building has such a presence in Brickell for its world-class architecture and prime location, and its potential will now be fully realized with this much needed revitalization.”
Mast Capital and partner Angelo, Gordon & Co. purchased the Conrad Hotel in 2017. The acquisition forged the first Conrad Hotels & Resorts franchise agreement in the United States.
This expansive redevelopment highlights Mast Capital’s commitment to enhancing communities in Florida and providing unparalleled experiences to guests and residents.Prominent projects developed or owned by Mast Capital include the Miami River Walk, 3811 Shipping Avenue near the Shops at Merrick Park, The Quay Fort Lauderdale and Treasures on the Bay in North Bay Village.
