Miami Mayor Tomás P. Regalado hosted a press conference on Wednesday, Oct. 25, at the Miami Atelier of Oscar Carvallo, 201 NW 37 St.
The event was to discuss the expansion of Oscar Carvallo Paris’ haute couture fashion firm in Miami.
The event also included the announcement of fashion designer Oscar Carvallo’s exclusive exhibition of the interpretative work of world-renowned kinetic artist Carlos Cruz-Diez in an art exhibit at the Perez Art Museum Miami on Dec. 8 during Art Basel.
Mayor Regalado, host of this event, welcomed Carvallo and presented him with a Key to the City of Miami.
Lured by the fast growing Miami market and the increased demand for quality fashion, Carvallo has been noticed by the mayor.
“I have made it my mission to develop the fashion couture industry in Miami.” Mayor Regalado said. “We want to ignite this new industry and the opportunity for high-level design careers so that talent is lured to our great city, and so that we can provide jobs and opportunity for creative individuals who are already here.”
