In an ongoing effort to expand post-graduate opportunities for its students, Miami Dade College (MDC) has established a “4+1” articulation agreement with Florida Atlantic University (FAU) that will allow MDC graduates with a bachelor’s degree in engineering, data analytics or information systems technology to complete a master’s degree at FAU in one year.

“MDC has a history of providing excellence in academics, as demonstrated by this partnership with FAU,” said Anselm Knights, MDC chairperson of engineering, technology and architecture. “This partnership epitomizes the quality we have put into our programs, and we look ahead to a continued collaboration with FAU and further developing the programs we offer.”

The agreement assures that students graduating from MDC’s School of Engineering and Technology with a Bachelor of Science in electrical and computer engineering technology, upon meeting specific requirements, are eligible for admission into the Master of Science in Electrical Engineering or the Master of Science in Bioengineering programs at FAU’s College of Engineering and Computer Science.

Equally, MDC students graduating with a Bachelor of Science in data analytics or Bachelor of Science in information systems technology can complete FAU’s Master of Science in information technology and management in one year after completing the program requirements.

“This expanded partnership program will enable MDC students to pursue a master’s degree in electrical engineering, bioengineering, or information technology and management,” said Dr. Stella Batalama, dean of the FAU College of Engineering and Computer Science. “We look forward to welcoming these students to our college, and we are excited for them to join the FAU family.”
