Daniel Molina, a student writer with Urbana, the award-winning student literary magazine at Miami Dade College’s (MDC) InterAmerican Campus, took first place for Best Fiction at the 2013 Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) State Publications competition.
“Although technology has changed, art, literature, and photography remain universal ways to communicate with our fellow human beings,” Molina said.
This year’s award adds to the numerous recognitions Urbana students have received in previous years in the areas of art and photography.
“Many thanks to English professors and faculty advisors, Liza Greenberg and Alex Salinas, for encouraging and nurturing creativity in our students,” said Michaela Tomova, InterAmerican Campus chair for Communications, Arts, and Philosophy.
