More than 40 Miami Dade College (MDC) Wolfson Campus students participated in the annual JumpStart Day of Service on Monday, July 29.
In collaboration with Student Life and Student Government Association at the Wolfson Campus, the JumpStart students visited Southside Elementary to beautify the school’s cafeteria and outdoor areas.
The Summer JumpStart program at MDC’s Wolfson Campus is designed to help incoming freshmen transition to college by providing a strong academic foundation, individualized advisement, and a supportive environment.
This year’s program invited students majoring in business to get a “jump start” on their degree by completing coursework to obtain a College Credit Certificate as a Business Specialist on their way to completing an associate degree in business. This program helps students to focus on an academic pathway with stackable credentials, which helps to ensure they are workforce ready upon graduation.
The Summer JumpStart program provides free tuition and fees for Florida residents. Enrollment is limited.
