Miami Dade College (MDC)’s Miami Animation and Gaming International Complex (MAGIC) will host a 24-hour Halloween Hackathon starting at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, through Saturday, Oct. 29, at 6 p.m., at MDC’s Wolfson Campus in the heart of Downtown Miami.

This event is open free to the public.

Projects will be judged in the categories of Games, Animation and Mixed Reality, and though open to all ages, minors require a waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian.

The MAGIC Halloween Hackathon was organized by members of the MAGIC Club, a student organization that seeks to supplement the MAGIC curriculum by gathering current and prospective students to learn from sources outside the classroom.

Guest judges will include Conrad Montgomery, vice president, Current Animation at Nickelodeon, and Bill Buckley, animation director at First Contact Entertainment. Winners will receive prizes from Microsoft Corporation including laptops, Wacom tablets and Nintendo, as well as airfare tickets to anywhere in the U.S. on American Airlines.
