Miami Book Fair announces its 2025 lineup of authors
The three-day Street Fair transforms Downtown Miami with over 250 booksellers and publishers.

Miami Book Fair, the longest-running literary festival in the United States, recently announced the lineup for its 42nd edition, returning to Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Wolfson Campus from Nov. 16 to 23. The festival will feature over 550 authors from more than 35 countries across six continents.

This year’s headliners include No. 1 bestselling novelist Daniel Silva, country music star Kenny Chesney, author and television host Padma Lakshmi, writer and director Larry Charles, Pulitzer Prize-winning artist Art Spiegelman and MacArthur Fellow Edwidge Danticat. They’re joined by acclaimed authors such as Carl Hiaasen, Susan Choi, Nnedi Okorafor and Karen Russell, part of a global roster spanning fiction, nonfiction, poetry, children’s and young adult literature, comics, culinary arts, photography, and more.

“Miami Book Fair is one of the most internationally diverse literary gatherings in the country, bringing together voices from every corner of the globe,” said Lissette Mendez, Miami Book Fair’s executive director. “This year’s lineup is absolutely extraordinary. We have Pulitzer Prize winners, MacArthur Fellows, National Book Award recipients and literary stars all converging in Miami. This is one of the most ambitious programs we’ve ever assembled, and it represents everything we love about literature’s power to connect readers with the world’s most compelling storytellers.”

Among the many activities of the Miami Book Fair one of the most popular is the Street Fair, scheduled Nov. 21–23. The three-day Street Fair transforms Downtown Miami with over 250 booksellers and publishers, author presentations, live music and food vendors.

Highlights include the Off the Shelf live music stage with high-energy performances throughout the weekend. Friday admission is free; tickets required for Saturday and Sunday (children 12 and under are always free).

During the Street Fair weekend, the Children’s Alley transforms into a lively wonderland with beloved mascots Wembly Wordsmith, Rita Readsmuch and Stanza the monkey leading families through storytelling, crafts, puppetry, theater and roving performers. In addition, the fair’s programming for kids and teens showcases authors including E. Lockhart, Mercedes Ron, Trang Thanh Tran, Amy Timberlake and cartoonist George O’Connor.

Founded in 1984 by MDC and partners, Miami Book Fair draws more than 200,000 visitors annually to Downtown Miami. What began as a neighborhood gathering has become a cultural cornerstone and global model for celebrating books, authors and ideas across languages and cultures.

“After more than four decades, the fair continues to serve as a literary crossroads where hundreds of thousands of readers and writers from around the world converge each year,” said Mitchell Kaplan, founder of Miami Book Fair and Books & Books. “Miami’s unique position as a gateway between the Americas has shaped this festival into something truly special, a place where diverse voices and stories find common ground, and where literature becomes a bridge between cultures.”

The Fair’s year-round programing extends its mission of promoting literacy, access to the arts, and diverse voices across South Florida, including The Little Haiti Book Festival, creative writing workshops, author presentations, reading campaigns and Books for Free, a partnership with The Children’s Trust that distributes more than 150,000 free books annually to Miami-Dade County children.
