Miami Dade College’s (MDC) 42nd Miami Book Fair (MBF), the country’s finest literary festival, returns Nov. 16-23 with an exciting program for everyone.

To begin the festivities, the fair recently unveiled this year’s official poster designed by Ian Teresa–Calleja, a Miami-based artist and graphic design student at New World School of the Arts (NWSA).

Drawing inspiration from Miami’s ever-evolving landscape — from gleaming skyscrapers to revitalized streets and neighborhoods, Teresa–Calleja captures the spirit of transformation.

“I wanted to draw a parallel between the city’s physical growth and the personal growth we experience through reading,” he said. “Books, like cities, help us build new ways of thinking. That process isn’t always easy, but it’s powerful — and worth it. Most of all, I wanted to create something inviting, a world that draws you in, just like a good book.”

This special collaboration with NWSA has produced several iconic Fair posters over the years, providing a unique opportunity for emerging artists to showcase their talent.

“I love our partnership with the students at New World School of the Arts,” said Lissette Mendez, executive director of Miami Book Fair. “For them, it’s a chance to flex their creativity, get real-world experience; for the fair, it’s an opportunity to collaborate with the next generation of artists and designers. These students know the fair deeply — many have been attending since childhood. It’s their book fair. Helping bridge generations and elevating student voices is one of the things I value most about my work and MDC.”

The fair welcomes world-renowned authors, cultural influencers and high-profile personalities, including “Evenings With” headliners, to be announced soon. Hundreds of writers will present in English, Spanish and Haitian Creole, with many sessions available live and on demand at miamibookfaironline.com.

This year’s highlights include:
• ReadCaribbean, spotlighting Haitian and other Caribbean voices.
• ReadingEast, featuring authors from the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
• IberoAmerican Program, a robust lineup of Hispanic writers, poets, journalists, artists, and storytellers.

Free community events:
• Opening Day Block Party on Sunday, Nov. 16, and the much-anticipated Lost Chapter, a rooftop lounge with stunning views of Downtown Miami (open nightly Nov. 19-23).
• Children’s Alley will offer interactive fun and educational activities for kids during the Street Fair weekend (Nov. 21-23) featuring hundreds of vendors. Meanwhile, Off the Shelf live music stage hosts high-energy performances throughout the weekend. Attendees can browse Street Fair vendors offering everything from books and art to delicious eats from food trucks and pop-up cafés.

The Next Page, a signature dinner event and fundraiser honoring literary champions and cultural leaders, with proceeds supporting the Fair’s continued legacy. The Next Page will take place on Friday, Nov. 21, at the JW Marriott Marquis.
