Miami city manager Art Noriega V has announced the appointment of Dale Henderson as the city’s new director of Solid Waste.
Henderson has over 43 years of management experience in the public and private solid waste sectors, giving him a unique perspective on driving operational excellence and achieving world-class organizational performance. He has held senior leadership positions with Fortune 500 companies, including Waste Management and Republic Services, as well as leading privately held organizations.
Most recently, Henderson served as director of Solid Waste for Polk County, where he oversaw financial, operational, engineering, and customer service functions for the division.
Henderson holds a BS in Scientific Land Management from the University of Wisconsin, River Falls. He also is a United States Coast Guard-licensed Merchant Marine Captain and an FAA-licensed pilot, reflecting his commitment to precision and safety.
