The Miami-Dade County Office of the Tax Collector officially opened its tenth Tax Collector Office during a ribbon-cutting ceremony in Miami Gardens, marking an important step in expanding public access to essential county services across northern Miami-Dade.
“Today we open a new office that brings government closer to the people,” said Miami-Dade County Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez. “For too long, many residents in this area have had to travel across the county to renew a license, pay property taxes, or handle basic transactions. This new location allows families and businesses to complete what they need right here in their own community.”
The new Miami Gardens Tax Collector Office represents another milestone in Fernandez’s ongoing effort to improve service delivery and accessibility for residents throughout Miami-Dade County. It reflects a continued commitment to practical, efficient, and customer-focused government service.
The ceremony brought together City of Opa-Locka Mayor John Taylor, Miami Gardens Councilman Reggie Leon, representatives from the Office of Congresswoman Frederica S. Wilson, Miami-Dade Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz, and Miami-Dade Supervisor of Elections Alina Garcia, along with community leaders and residents who gathered to celebrate the opening.
“This new location is another step toward better service for our residents,” Fernandez added. “Every new office we open strengthens our connection with the community and helps make government work better for the people it serves.”
Residents can now access a full range of services at the Miami Gardens Tax Collector Office, including driver licenses and ID cards, vehicle registrations, property tax payments, and business tax receipts.
