Miami-Dade welcomes program to expand accelerator for inclusive entrepreneurship

Miami-Dade County welcomes the expansion of Entrepreneur Ready’s “How To Start Something Accelerator,” an entrepreneurship program that will reach 300 participants in Miami-Dade County thi spring.

Supported by JPMorgan Chase, this inclusive program is free and open to first-time entrepreneurs and small businesses wanting to start, pivot, or restart their ventures.

“Small businesses are the backbone of Miami-Dade’s strong economy and this program ensures that our most underserved residents have the opportunity to build their own successful enterprises, too,” said Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava.

“With the support of JPMorgan Chase, Entrepreneur Ready will equip hundreds of small businesses with the tools to scale from big idea to grand opening. With their investment, we’re creating a more inclusive, more prosperous, and more future ready Miami-Dade,” the mayor added.

Entrepreneur Ready aims to share its successful online accelerator with underrepresented entrepreneurs and those who have previously lacked access to comprehensive, early-stage entrepreneurship training, to promote inclusive entrepreneurship.

How to Start Something program is an immersive learning accelerator with an online platform, a step-by-step learning framework, and personalized feedback from entrepreneur coaches. In addition, the program provides access to an engaging online community, weekly live workshops, online office hours, and a community forum where participants build traction and connections. Each participant who completes the program will have will have walked their idea through a proven framework to prepare to launch.

The free self-paced entrepreneurship program is open to:
• Miami Dade County residents who are at least 18 years old;
• Participants with any level of education, any idea, and any background, and
• Participants who can commit approximately eight hours a week for six to 10 months to complete the self-paced program.

Entrepreneur Ready has been working since 2008 to not only make entrepreneurship and ownership more accessible but also to produce equivalent outcomes and achievements for women, minorities, and first-time business owners.
