The Miami Downtown Development Authority (Miami DDA) and rideshare service Freebee are expanding transit options in Miami’s urban core with a new free all-electric fixed-route transit service throughout the central business district.
This new service will allow Downtown residents, workers and visitors to leave their vehicle at one of the parking garages along the route and enjoy easy access to downtown’s top destinations.
Launched on Nov. 27, this new circulator loop passes destinations including Kaseya Center, Miami Worldcenter, the Miami-Dade Government Center as well as the Brightline MiamiCentral station and four different Metromover stations.
“With the enormous growth in Downtown Miami, it’s never been more important to provide new transit options that will allow people get around without a car,” said Miami Commissioner Manolo Reyes, chair of the Miami DDA board of directors. “This new service connects many of Downtown’s most visited destinations to make for easy commuting throughout the urban core.”
Freebee’s shuttles with Miami DDA branding will circle the route continuously and passengers can hail a vehicle anywhere along the route, book a ride via the Ride Freebee mobile app, or hop on when the vehicle is stopped at a red light or stop sign.
Hours of operation are:
