Miami Jewish Health, a trusted provider of senior living and healthcare services for more than 85 years, recently unveiled the new Joseph Gringlas Center for Integrated Rehabilitative Medicine (located on its main Miami campus).

As South Florida’s only single-site provider of comprehensive outpatient assessment and rehabilitation treatment, the Gringlas Center applies a personalized, holistic approach that results in optimal care delivery, higher patient satisfaction, and quicker, improved recoveries.

The center’s dedication and reimagination was made possible by a gift from the Seed the Dream Foundation, which fosters well-being for people of all ages through access, engagement, awareness, and empowerment. Upgrades not only included a renovation of the existing clinical space, but the addition of new leading-edge equipment that offers the latest technological innovation to help improve rehabilitation outcomes.

“Miami Jewish Health’s ability to deliver the highest level of care to South Floridians would not be possible without the tremendous generosity of our donors,” said Dr. Marc Agronin, chief medical officer, Frank C. and Lynn Scaduto MIND Institute at Miami Jewish Health. “The Seed the Dream Foundation and Joseph’s daughter, Marcy Gringlas, have ensured that we not only honor him, but that our patients can continue to count on Miami Jewish Health to help them age with grace, empathy, and a sense empowerment so they can enjoy active, fulfilling lives.”

Whether recovering from injury, illness, or surgery, the Gringlas Center assesses a patient’s physical, emotional, and cognitive health, and functional abilities to create a customized recovery plan that is guided by a dedicated care navigator. This individualized care and high-touch case management stresses patient advocacy, a seamless experience, and comprehensive, holistic support so patients can focus on getting better.

“It was our family’s great fortune to have been introduced to Dr. Marc Agronin and the wonderful staff at Miami Jewish Health,” said Joseph’s wife, Reli Gringlas, “Only a few programs with similar holistic models exist in this country, which makes this center a unique provider of patient-centered, multi-modal rehabilitative care. We believe others should be as blessed as we were to be a part of the Miami Jewish Health family. And, it is our hope, that all who walk through these doors will be inspired by Joe’s story of resilience and hope.”

Specializing in managing conditions that limit movement, cause pain, and weaken physical abilities, and improving neurocognitive function and emotional well-being, the center treats patients living with acute and chronic back pain, arthritis, brain injuries, joint replacement, neuromuscular diseases, Parkinson’s, vestibular conditions, and a variety of other health issues and conditions.

Being under one-roof, the team of physicians; physical, occupational and speech therapists; nurses and nurse practitioners; social workers; biofeedback specialists; pain management experts; and psychologists and psychiatrists; can address changing patient needs in real time to help deliver innovative, evidence-based, and empathic care.

The dedication to honor the legacy of Joseph Gringlas reflects his resilience and the kindness and optimism he always chose to see in people despite witnessing the worst as a Holocaust survivor.
