Bankruptcy attorney Michael P. Dunn, founder and managing partner of Dunn Law, PA, has been named president of The Bankruptcy Bar Association of the Southern District of Florida (BBASDF) for the 2022-23 term.
Dunn has been in elevating roles on the executive board of the BBASDF for the past five years. He previously served as president elect, first vice president, second vice president, secretary and treasurer.
Dunn concentrates his practice in insolvency with an emphasis on bankruptcy and commercial litigation. He regularly represents trustees and fiduciaries, banks, creditors, debtors, and distressed asset purchasers. As a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Civil Mediator, Dunn also mediates a range of commercial litigation and bankruptcy matters.
He is an active speaker and published author, speaking often on the emerging topics of blockchain, cryptocurrency and non-fungible tokens (NFTs), including detecting NFT fraud, their role in real estate transactions, and identifying and recovering digital assets in bankruptcies. In 2021, Michael was selected by the Florida Bar, Business Law Section (BLS) as a BLS Fellow for a two-year term from 2021 to 2023.
Dunn holds a JD from Emory University School and a BS in Political Science from Washington University in St. Louis.
Established in 1980, the Bankruptcy Bar Association of the Southern District of Florida (BBASDFL) is the largest voluntary association of bankruptcy professionals in the Southern District of Florida.
