Miami International Fine Arts (MIFA) is featuring a world-renowned Guy Harvey exhibit throughout the month of September which is open for public viewing as a salute to the arts and environmental awareness. His next complimentary appearance at MIFA will be Saturday, September 18th from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and will include a book signing.

“We are honored to have this spectacular Guy Harvey artwork filling our gallery,” said Teresa Uribe, president of MIFA.  As an international marine wildlife artist and conservationist, his authentic artwork portrays a passion for ocean life around the world.”

“What Costex Tractor Parts has accomplished with both MIFA and an environmentally friendly headquarters is highly commendable,” said Harvey. “We have found there is now more support for educating children about the environment and this is an amazing effort by Costex. It is easy to see how the Uribe family has funded this art gallery for a fantastic quality experience.

Prior to the exhibit opening, Harvey toured the Costex Tractor Parts facility, including the recently completed 4,000 solar panel roof. His exhibit is open and free to the public with proceeds from artwork sales benefiting the Guy Harvey Foundation environmental ocean efforts.

MIFA’s partnership with Harvey is the first fall collaboration which will include community organization outreach in Miami by support of Costex employees. There is complimentary admission to MIFA daily, Monday through Saturday, from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm. Instruction for aspiring artists is available for those interested applying through their website.

“One of the reasons for supporting MIFA is for Miami-Dade residents to have a venue with special art experiences,” says Melissa Uribe Gil, Costex executive vice president. “We have launched MIFA under an incredible roster of creative instructors for the purpose of providing educational opportunities for those looking to gain new programming.”

The MIFA team of seven, brings expertise that is shared with local and international guests. They offer children’s program from ages 8 and up, where instructors provide creative critical thinking while supporting the freedom to explore children’s interests in creating art.

“Our training includes classical art forms of drawing and painting,” explains Creative director Carlos Martinez Leon. “We take great pride in preparing students to become artists. For anyone interested in mentoring by our team, they are able to connect through our website. Additionally, we are looking forward to collaborating with non-profit organizations.”
