The Military Hospitality Lounge (MHL) celebrated its 25th anniversary with a dinner for its volunteers at Season 52 in Coral Gables on Wednesday, Jan. 31.
At the celebration, Angel Rodriguez, MHL executive director, handed out Certificates of Appreciation and tenure pins to all volunteers. The Military Hospitality Lounge, located at the Miami International Airport, is a place that provides a comfortable, quiet, and clean environment where our military personnel, veterans and their families can rest as they await flights to their destinations. The lounge is open Thursday to Monday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Guests at the lounge can partake in cold/hot snacks, beverages, and other food items at no charge, but this takes money. In 2023, more than 15,360 guests visited the lounge.
The Military Hospitality Lounge is constantly looking for volunteers, sponsors, and donations. Anyone interested in volunteering or donating are invited to visit the website at http://www.militaryloungemiami.com/ where applications are available.
