Miami Music Project has announced it has been recognized as one of the 2025 Top 100 Women-Led Businesses in Florida by The Women’s Edge, a leading nonprofit advancing women’s leadership and impact.
This distinction honors president and CEO Anna Klimala’s transformational leadership at the helm of Miami Music Project since 2010. The official recognition will take place during an awards luncheon on Thursday, May 8, at Le Meridien in Dania Beach.
The Top 100 Women-Led Businesses ranks exceptional female executives and the organizations they lead, celebrating business acumen, innovation, and community contribution. Now in its fourth year, the Top 100 list highlights the immense economic and social impact women leaders have across industries in Florida.
“Being recognized among the top women-led organizations in the state affirms the power of purpose-driven leadership,” Klimala said. “At Miami Music Project, we believe music is a tool for social transformation, and this honor belongs to every student, Teaching Artist, and team member who make this mission a living reality to thousands of children across Miami.”
Named a Mover in Miami, Klimala is a musician, non-profit executive, educator, and youth empowerment activist. As president and CEO of Miami Music Project, she has grown it into one of the largest music education programs in the U.S,. raising over $24 million. She co-founded Teaching Artists Training Institute, El Sistema USA and music festivals in her native Poland. Her work has impacted over 60,000 youth.
Founded in 2008, Miami Music Project uses music education as an instrument for social change, providing free-of-charge programming to thousands of students in under-resourced communities. Under Klimala’s leadership, the organization has flourished, gaining national and international acclaim for its innovative approach to democratic access to arts education and its 100 percent high school graduation rate.
Miami Music Project has served over 33,000 youth with tuition-free, immersive, conservatory-level education, providing students with free instruments, homework help, mentorship, and academic support to numerous first-generation college applicants across Miami-Dade County.
In 2024, Klimala launched the Pathways: College Mentor Program, supporting the organization’s 100 percent graduation and 100 percent pursuit of higher education rate.
The program offers expert guidance on college applications, financial aid, scholarships, and career planning. Its impact was evident as two students were accepted into Columbia University, including one recipient of the prestigious QuestBridge Scholarship, a full-ride scholarship honoring excellence.

The award luncheon, described as more than a ceremony but a movement, will unveil the ranking number of each of the recognized female business leaders, executives, and changemakers to honor women shaping the future of Florida’s economy and communities.
