Ismael Tijerino, Esq., one of Miami’s rising stars in workers’ compensation law, announces the creation of Tijerino Law Group, LLC, which will begin taking clients May 1, 2023. After years of working at one of the biggest workers’ compensation law firms in Miami-Dade County, Tijerino has decided to open his own law firm, in an effort to champion the rights of injured workers.
After graduating from St. Thomas University in 2018, Tijerino began his career focused on family law and homeowner’s litigation, but soon found his passion elsewhere. For the last four and a half years, he has solely focused his efforts on workers’ compensation matters. Throughout this time, Tijerino has litigated countless cases, always striving to seek the best possible outcome for every client, and has grown to have wide recognition and respect from his peers and colleagues.
Tijerino is not afraid to fight against the workers’ compensation insurance companies on behalf of his clients and is ready, willing, and able to take it to trial when required. As Mr. Tijerino stated, “You have to show these insurance companies that you are not willing to back down from a fight, no matter how small, and if you can manage that, they will think twice before playing games with your clients.”
With the opening of Tijerino Law Group, he intends to take a modern approach to the traditional law firm business model. In order to maximize clients’ time and accommodate their schedule, he plans on making most interactions between clients and their attorneys digital. Rather than have clients come to the office to sign and review documents, Tijerino Law Group intends to utilize video conferencing technology, along with digital signature applications, to get it all done remotely. Tijerino Law Group, will digitize in-person meetings with the intent to make the process more efficient, which in effect can help clients obtain their benefits sooner.
He also intends to modernize the traditional approach to communication between attorneys and clients, where the traditional law firm only allows phone calls and appointments from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The Tijerino Law Group intends to integrate text messaging and direct messaging on social media, which allows for communication 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with someone dedicated to responding within an hour. Additionally, rather than having a regular status update via phone, the Tijerino Law Group intends to do this via video conferencing in order to maintain face-to-face communication.
The implementation and use of technology are intended to make a client’s experience in an already stressful situation as stress-free as possible. While second nature to an attorney, litigation and the lawsuit process are stressful experiences for clients who are still recovering from injuries; as such, they sometimes feel lost in all the jargon and so-called “legalese”.
However, with the integration of a modern approach, the Tijerino Law Group intends to keep their clients updated, provide clarity and understanding, and ensure satisfaction with their services.
The Tijerino Law Group intends to devote 90% of its litigation practice to workers’ compensation matters and 10% to all other areas of civil litigation. The Tijerino Law Group will have offices in Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Orlando, and Tampa and serve the entire state of Florida.
