Crews from Moss and Associates of Fort Lauderdale have topped out the Atton Brickell Hotel, 1500 SW First Ave., as Atton Hotels’ first North American property nears its opening.
Completion is scheduled for early 2016 on the 12-floor, 275-room hotel, with 262,085 square feet. The estimated project cost is $65 million.
Built by Atton Hotels of Santiago, Chile, the hotel, across from the Brickell Publix shopping center, is aimed at the business traveler, and will feature rooftop amenities, a poolside bar, ground-floor restaurant and bar with indoor/outdoor patio seating, 7,000 square feet of event rooms and 177 parking spaces.
“This is exciting news for Moss and for one of the hemisphere’s most important business crossroads and vibrant neighborhoods,” said Michael Gonzalez, Moss and Associates project manager. “The Brickell area has been an important market for us, and we are committed to creating the best product possible while minimizing disruptions to commuters and businesses in the neighborhood as work proceeds.”
Atton Hotels operates three hotels in Chile, one in Peru and two in Colombia. Atton Brickell will be the company’s first North American hotel. As general contractor, Moss and Associates has been a big player in Brickell construction, where its portfolio includes the Ivy and Mint condominium towers and the 1010 Brickell and Brickell Heights towers, now under construction.
