Miami-Dade County is accepting nominations for the 37th annual “In the Company of Women” awards, honoring outstanding women whose leadership and service have made a lasting impact in Miami-Dade County.
The community is invited to nominate inspiring women leaders. The nomination deadline is Friday, Dec. 12.

The awards ceremony takes place each March to commemorate Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day. Presented by the Miami-Dade Parks, Recreation, and Open Spaces Department, in partnership with the Miami-Dade Commission for Women and the Parks Foundation of Miami-Dade, the “In the Company of Women” awards ceremony is a time-honored Miami-Dade County tradition. The program celebrates women who exemplify professional excellence, community responsibility, advancement of girls and women’s progress, visionary leadership, and commitment to inclusivity across the following categories:
• Outstanding Woman in Business and Economics;
• Outstanding Woman in Arts, Culture, and Communications;
• Outstanding Woman in Education, Health, and Innovation;
• Outstanding Woman in Government and Law, Elected Official;
• Outstanding Woman in Government and Law, Non-elected Official;
• Outstanding Woman in Sports and Athletics;
• Community Spirit Award, and
• Mayor’s Pioneer Award.
Nominations with supporting entry materials must be submitted online by 11:59 p.m. on Dec. 12. Nominations that fail to include the requested items or do not meet the application deadline will be automatically disqualified. Past recipients of an “In the Company of Women” award are not eligible. A selection committee of community leaders, including previous honorees, will review all eligible nominations and select the awardees.
