Driftwood Capital (Driftwood), a vertically integrated commercial real estate investment firm focused on hospitality, has announced that Jorge L. Gomez-Moller, partner, chief legal officer and general counsel, has been elected as a member of the Orange Bowl Committee (OBC), one of South Florida’s most prestigious civic and nonprofit organizations.

The election reflects his distinguished professional standing as well as Driftwood’s broader dedication to active community involvement across the South Florida region.

As a member of the Orange Bowl Committee, Gomez-Moller will contribute to the OBC’s year-round schedule of events and community initiatives, joining a distinguished network of South Florida business, civic, and government leaders in a shared commitment to the region’s growth and vitality.

“Being elected to the Orange Bowl Committee is a tremendous honor,” Gomez-Moller said.

“As a proud son of Miami, the work and legacy of the Orange Bowl Committee is deeply personal to me. For nearly 100 years this organization has driven meaningful community and economic impact throughout South Florida, and I look forward to helping carry forward this tradition for decades to come.”

Gomez-Moller brings a wealth of experience to the OBC, having overseen all fund-level and asset-level strategic and legal matters, including fund formation, recapitalizations, and complex fund and real estate transactions, as well as launching Driftwood’s Investment Management platform.

“Jorge’s election is a reflection of our firm’s dedication to serving communities that we’re a part of – none more so than our South Florida home,” said Carlos Rodriguez Jr., president and CEO of Driftwood Capital. “We look forward to the positive influence and work that he will have with the Orange Bowl Committee, representing Driftwood and its values in one of South Florida’s most important and respected organizations.”

Gomez-Moller’s election to the Orange Bowl Committee, a lifetime appointment, is emblematic of a firm-wide culture of civic engagement. Driftwood has made it a priority to ensure that its leadership is invested in the business community as well as the social fabric of Miami. From extensive philanthropy to hands-on volunteerism, the firm actively encourages its team members to take meaningful roles in organizations that strengthen the communities where it operates.

Founded in 1935, the Orange Bowl Committee is a primarily volunteer-driven, nonprofit organization committed to generating tourism and economic impact for South Florida.

Beyond its signature event, the Capital One Orange Bowl, the committee produces premier international sporting events like the Orange Bowl International Tennis Championships and the Orange Bowl International Youth Regatta, reinvesting proceeds into youth sports, scholarships, and community initiatives across South Florida.
