Some tickets still remain for the South Florida Youth Symphony’s fundraising 1920’s costume gala, Oct. 29, at the Miami Shores Country Club, 10000 Biscayne Blvd.
Reservation deadline for the gala to benefit the 58-year-old organization’s ongoing mission of empowering young musicians is Oct. 15. Individual tickets are $125 for the event which begins with a 6-7 p.m. cocktail hour, followed by dinner at 7 p.m.
In addition to supporting the South Florida Youth Symphony’s ongoing music programs, a portion of the funds raised from the event will help the SFYS — which is comprised mainly of students from low income and underserved households in Miami-Dade and Broward counties — underwrite a proposed concert tour of Florence, Lucca and Rome, Italy in March, 2023.
The event will include a silent auction featuring a variety of sports memorabilia, including signed Miami Dolphin and Miami Heat items. A limited number of gala sponsorships are available at the Prelude ($1,500), Intermezzo ($2,500) and Fortissimo ($5,000) level. The Fortissimo level includes a table for 10 and a private concert at a residence or business event.
