Plaza Construction Group of Florida held a construction worker appreciation event on Friday, Feb. 2, to thank the hundreds of men and women who have worked tirelessly on the construction of One Thousand Museum in Downtown Miami.

To show its appreciation to employees who have gone above and beyond and demonstrated an unwavering commitment to safety, the company raffled a new metallic silver Chevrolet Colorado 4-door truck. The lucky winner, Duardin “Dino” Taveras, 42, of Miami Springs, installs tile at the site and has worked on the project since its inception.

“I want to personally thank the hardworking men and women who’ve dedicated their time and their talent to making Zaha Hadid’s spectacular vision a reality,” said Brad Meltzer, president, Plaza Construction Group of Florida. “Everyone on this site, from laborers to supervisors, have logged long hours under sometimes difficult conditions and tight deadlines. We want them to know that their commitment, dedication and hard work has not gone unnoticed.”

Plaza has served as general contractor for the 62-story, 84-unit tower since construction began in 2015 and, in that time, has overseen thousands of workers at the site. Designed by the late Zaha Hadid, One Thousand Museum is approaching its 709-foot final height, and will top-out this month.
