Coconut Grove’s weather forecast is calling for snow and lots of it, six tons to be exact, on Saturday, December 4 and Saturday, December 11 as the 2nd annual Snow Days event returns to the delight of youngsters from all around Miami.
The festivities will begin with Santa Claus and Frosty arriving in true Coconut Grove fashion by rickshaw and opening the gates to the snow areas at 11 a.m. on Virginia Street on December 4th and on Fuller Street the following weekend. The activities will continue until 2 p.m.
Snow Days is presented by the Coconut Grove Business Improvement District (BID) and participating merchants.
“Snow Days is our way of bringing a little of the winter experience — complete with snow angels, snowmen and even snow ball tosses — to kids in our community,” said David Collins, executive director of the Coconut Grove BID. “Parents have almost as much fun watching the kids as they have playing in the snow.”
Many of local businesses and restaurants will be offering special promotions and discounts to families visiting the Grove.
