Puttshack highlights sensory inclusion for Autism Acceptance Month in April
The tech-infused mini golf company brings everyone in to play with month-long fundraiser benefitting KultureCity accessibility and inclusion organization

At Puttshack, the company purpose is to bring everyone in to play. On the occasion of Autism Acceptance Month during April, the company-wide commitment to creating and sustaining inclusive and welcoming environments for all guests is highlighter though a partnership with KultureCity, an Alabama-based nonprofit dedicated to promoting accessibility and inclusion for individuals with sensory processing needs.

There will be a month-long fundraising event across all Puttshack U.S locations to benefit its partners. Through Apr. 30, 20 percent of each nine-hole mini golf game booked from www.puttshack.com/kcfundraiser will be donated directly to KultureCity.

With one in four individuals in the U.S. living with a sensory processing need or invisible disability, Puttshack recognized an opportunity to provide an enjoyable experience for everyone. All 16 of the company’s U.S. venues have earned the Sensory Inclusive certification from KultureCity. As part of this certification, Puttshack offers sensory bags at our venues, designed to help guests of all ages who might benefit from sensory tools.

This mission of inclusivity is further enhanced by the proprietary Trackaball technology that keeps the score for you, ADA-compliant courses at every venue, and a premium dietary-inclusive culinary offering.

“We welcome everyone in to play at Puttshack, and we are thrilled to continue to create inclusive spaces that are enjoyable for our guests with all abilities,” said Susan Walmesley, Puttshack CMO/COO. “It’s important that social entertainment spaces such as ours continue to evolve in accessibility so anyone can have fun, together.”

Each of the venues is featured on the KultureCity website, allowing guests to preview the spaces and explore the sensory-inclusive options available before their visit. This transparency helps ensure that every guest can feel comfortable and prepared, making their experience even more enjoyable.

“Empowering communities through inclusion and innovation, Puttshack is aligned with the same visionary spirit as KultureCity and is championing a world where every individual, regardless of ability, is not just accepted but celebrated for their unique contributions to the tapestry of humanity,” said Uma Srivastava, KultureCity executive director.

In 2023 Puttshack set a goal to certify all new venues within six months of opening. Last spring, the then-14 U.S. venues had all achieved KultureCity’s Sensory Inclusive certification, a milestone that marked a significant step in an ongoing commitment to making spaces welcoming and accommodating for all guests.

This certification also acknowledges one of the company’s values of “Care Deeply,” which is a commitment to taking great care of guests, associates, and the communities it serves.
