Get ready to roll down Memory Lane at “Cars and Cigars,” the annual Father’s day event at The Barnacle Historic State Park. This year, The Barnacle Society presents its classic Miami tradition, June 17 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., on the grounds of the beautiful Barnacle, home of one of Coconut Grove’s founding fathers, Commodore Ralph Munroe.
The event offers a full day of fun activities with something for every member of the family to enjoy, including voting for your favorite classic car, a biergarten, cigar roller, kid’s crafts, and 70s Country Rock music by the Tall Boys.
“Cars & Cigars” is one of my favorite events at The Barnacle,” says John Palenchar, President of The Barnacle Society.
“It has the elegant feel of a classic car show, the relaxed ambiance of The Barnacle grounds, and great activities for everyone in the family. Kids can make crafts for their dad, grownups can enjoy a beer in the biergarten while listening to great live music – and as always The Barnacle is a perfect place for a picnic. Dad can even enjoy a hand-rolled cigar if he is so inclined.”
Guests are welcome to bring picnics and enjoy the beautiful view of Biscayne Bay! Fresh burgers, veggie burgers, and hot dogs will also be available buy at a nominal price from The Barnacle Society. The event is included with the regular $2 per person park entry fee, and children ages five and under are admitted free.
