Miami-Dade School Board chair and District 6 Representative Mari Tere Rojas, on Dec. 6, hosted her annual District 6 Holiday Toy Giveaway at Citrus Grove K-8 Center, bringing together preselected students from Title I schools for a joyful day of celebration.

With the holiday season approaching, Rojas delighted students and their siblings with toy donations, spreading warmth and cheer throughout the school community. Her thoughtful generosity reflects a steadfast commitment to ensuring every child enjoys a bright, memorable, and inclusive holiday experience — truly embodying the spirit of giving.

Sincere appreciation is extended to principal Veronica Bello of Citrus Grove K-8 Center for her outstanding leadership and unwavering support in making this initiative a success.

Principal Bello’s dedication to her students and school demonstrates compassion, service, and educational excellence.

Her coordination and guidance were instrumental in ensuring Citrus Grove’s meaningful participation, fostering an environment where students feel supported, valued, and connected to districtwide celebrations. Gratitude also is extended to community partners for their generous support.

Rojas further expressed heartfelt thanks to the Central and South Region superintendents, administrative directors, Miami-Dade Schools Police Department, City of Miami Department of Fire Rescue, and the Miami Senior High JROTC, cheerleaders, and drumline. Their collective contributions helped create a festive and memorable experience for every child in attendance, highlighting the unity and teamwork that strengthen and uplift our school communities each and every day.

“Nothing brings me more joy than seeing the smiles on these students’ faces,” Rojas said.

“This event is about more than toys; it’s about showing every child in our district that they are valued, loved, and part of a caring community.”
