Don’t look now, but the local real estate market is changing again. Miami’s Community Newspapers and Hal “MiamiHal” Feldman sponsored a successful complimentary seminar, titled “Learn the Secrets of Selling Your Home,” on Apr. 28.
“As publishers, we are in the community service business. I was so pleased to partner with this event and bring the latest information to our readership,” explained Grant Miller, Miami’s Community Newspapers publisher.
During the 90-minute evening event, the packed house of potential home sellers heard about the many components of selling, how to avoid potential pitfalls and how to maximize their profits from an expert panel with nearly 125 years of combined real estate experience.
The panel consisted of Feldman (RE/MAX Advance Realty), Elena Kemper (EWM), Joe Hernandez (AKG Home Inspections), Philip Spool (Certified Real Estate Appraiser), Barry Simons (Real Estate Attorney) and Title Agent Steve Medina (HBG Title) making every facet of the residential real estate business represented.
“Most people will only sell a home once or twice in a lifetime and that sale is often their biggest financial transaction they’ll ever do,” Feldman said. “It was incredibly satisfying to provide attendees with the help and knowledge they needed to understand each step of a real estate transaction so they’d be 100 percent ready for selling their home.”
Anyone can put a sign in his or her front yard, but only those truly educated and alert will succeed. The “Learn the Secrets of Selling Your Home” seminar showed people how to estimate their home’s value, how to market and show their property, how to gain leverage during negotiations and how to keep away the drama in order to close successfully.
“With the feedback we’ve received, I know we did a great job,” Feldman said.
Attendee Charlotte Dison was pleased with the seminar.
“I had some hesitation about coming to the event as I thought it might be a hard sell to list my home [with an agent],” Disonn said. “To my pleasant surprise, there was none of that. The camaraderie between [Feldman] and all the presenters made for an informative, pleasant evening. The home inspector, appraiser, real estate attorney, Realtors and the title agent covered all aspects of selling one’s home.”
