South Florida PBS (WPBT, WXEL, and Health Channel) is thrilled to share an exciting lineup of programming this September. From celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month to introducing new educational and health-focused content, South Florida PBS invites viewers to discover stories that inspire, inform, and connect.
PROGRAMMING HIGHLIGHTS:
As part of Hispanic Heritage Month, South Florida PBS will present programming that honors the vibrant culture, history, and contributions of the Latino community. Viewers can look forward to VOCES American Historia: The Untold History of Latinos featuring John Leguizamo, Finding Your Roots: Mexican Roots with Mario Lopez and Melissa Villaseñor, and the prestigious 38th Annual Hispanic Heritage Awards.
These programs highlight the richness of Latino heritage through powerful storytelling and meaningful narratives.
The schedule also features an exciting variety of premieres across genres, from nature and cooking to history and public health. Audiences can immerse themselves in the return of Big Cats 24/7 with its much-anticipated second season and enjoy new episodes of The Marlow Murder Club.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT:
Beyond the screen, South Florida PBS is proud to engage with the community through special events.
This month, families are invited to the KidVision Dance Time Season 2 Party, where Miss Penny will host a lively day of music, movement, and fun. Local dancers will bring
a variety of styles to life on stage at Pinecrest Gardens in Pinecrest on Saturday, September 20.
Looking ahead, South Florida PBS is excited to open its new immersive experience, Egyptian Pharaohs: From Cheops to Ramses II, on October 3 at the South Florida PBS Studios in Boynton Beach.

For younger viewers, the debut of Weather Hunters, created by and starring Al Roker, offers a fun and educational exploration of how weather shapes our world. The series is designed to nurture children’s natural curiosity while sparking a love for science.

The Health Channel will also host its upcoming town hall, Your Health. Your Coverage. Your Guide, on Wednesday, September 10 at 7 PM.
This interactive event brings together local organizations and certified ACA navigators to help viewers navigate the complexities of choosing a health plan. Participants will learn how the new 2025 rules work, discover available subsidies, and receive expert guidance on enrollment.
