Together with its partners at J.P. Morgan Asset Management, Sterling Bay, the Chicago-based real estate investment and development firm behind 545wyn, Wynwood’s first-ever Class-A creative office building, recently announced that it has signed a new lease with global consulting firm, Slalom.

The lease, which marks Slalom’s first office footprint in South Florida, covers approximately 8,000 square feet at 545wyn. Slalom is a $2.4 billion company with nearly 10,000 employees around the globe. The firm joins Gensler, the world-renowned architecture and design firm, and Love Life Café, a local vegan eatery, as tenants.

“Slalom’s decision to open its first South Florida office location in Wynwood further solidifies the submarket as Miami’s next big hub for global innovation,” said Andy Gloor, principal at Sterling Bay. “The property’s highly customized and ultramodern office features will enable Slalom to service clients in both North and Latin America, creating exposure for Wynwood in international markets and elevating the area’s reputation as an emerging destination for worldwide business.”

Slalom’s consulting services focus on strategy, technology, and business transformation with clients from top Fortune 500 companies, promising startups, established not-for-profits, and many other innovative organizations from around the world. Slalom has hired more than 50 local Miami residents since launching the Florida business and intends to hire several hundred more to build out the Florida business.

“Slalom works differently,” said Beau Williamson, general manager at Slalom. “Unlike typical consulting firms, Slalom consultants live in and are committed to the cities in which we work. We’re proud of our commitment not only to this premier office space in Wynwood, but also to the people of Miami as we hire locally to build out our business and create a positive impact on this community.”

Sterling Bay broke ground on 545wyn in January 2019 and completed the building in late 2020. Today, the 298,000-square-foot creative office and retail property offers future and current tenants access to large flexible floorplates and an unmatched suite of exclusive, highly sought-after healthy building amenities including a state-of-the-art wellness center, touchless elevator systems, vast outdoor lounges and high-quality air filtration systems.

To reflect the artistic aesthetic of Wynwood, Sterling Bay commissioned a number of creative installations at the property, including three very prominent exterior murals, to engage local and international artists and establish a sense of place for tenants.

Sterling Bay’s director of National Leasing, Jesse Van Dyke, negotiated the transaction. Newmark Knight & Frank’s managing director, Carlyle Coffin, and executive managing director, Daniel Levine, represented the tenant.
