On September 10th, nearly 200 small business owners from across Miami-Dade County came together for what is now being hailed as one of the most unique and energizing small business networking events in local history. Hosted by Strive305 and Community Newspapers, the event took place at the Community Newspapers headquarters and delivered a one-of-a-kind experience that blended business, culture, entertainment, and community pride.

From the moment guests arrived, the tone was set for an extraordinary experience. A Bagpipe player greeted attendees at the entrance, offering a ceremonial and unexpected start that immediately caught everyone’s attention. As the doors opened, the energy kicked into high gear thanks to a high-spirited welcome by the South Miami Senior High Cheerleaders. The entrance experience was reminiscent of the legendary Orange Bowl tunnel walk, and it set the perfect stage for what was to come.

Guests then embarked on a journey through a series of live podcast experiences curated by Strive305. The first stop was the Strive305 Entrepreneurship Podcast, where attendees listened in on real conversations about business growth and innovation. Just steps away, the Strive305 Kreyol Podcast offered content tailored to Miami’s vibrant Haitian community, followed by a walk over to the Economic Fellows Podcast and finally to the Strive305 Spanish Show, highlighting the county’s Hispanic entrepreneurial spirit.

But this was far more than a podcast event.

Between stops, attendees were treated to an immersive experience that included:

  • Delicious samples from local food vendors and small businesses
  • A relaxing massage station hosted by a local masseuse
  • Professional headshots taken by a pro photographer, free of charge
  • A food truck waiting outside with even more local flavors

Every detail of the event was thoughtfully designed to highlight the diverse talent and innovation that lives within Miami-Dade’s small business community. The event wasn’t just about networking — it was about celebrating the entrepreneurial spirit in all its forms.

This groundbreaking event was made possible thanks to the vision of Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, who has long championed a more inclusive and opportunity-driven economy. Her belief in a Miami-Dade economy that works for everyone inspired the collaboration between Grant and Michael Miller of Community Newspapers and Strive305HUB.com. Together, they turned that vision into a vibrant reality — proving what’s possible when public leadership, local media, and community organizations join forces.

The response from attendees has been overwhelmingly positive, with many calling it the best business event they’ve ever attended. The energy, diversity, and creativity that filled the building that day created new connections, sparked new ideas, and reminded everyone why Miami-Dade remains one of the most dynamic places in the country for small businesses.

And here’s the best news — talks are already underway to host a second edition of this incredible event in January.

If you’re a small business owner, aspiring entrepreneur, or simply someone who supports local economic growth, this is the event you won’t want to miss next time.
