Strive305 is excited to announce its collaboration with the Miami-Dade Office of Neighborhood Safety and the County’s Parks, Recreation, and Open Spaces on their transformative Fit2Lead program. This collaboration aims to provide valuable mentorship and professional development to the next generation of Miami’s youth while engaging local businesses in shaping their futures.

The Fit2Lead program will run from June 16th to August 3rd, 2025, and Strive305’s role is vital in identifying potential program partners. We are actively seeking businesses and organizations from key sectors, including Business & Marketing, Healthcare & Medical, Technology & IT, Social Services & Non-Profits, and Law & Criminal Justice. If your business falls within one of these industries, we invite you to become a Fit2Lead Program Partner and help guide the future leaders of tomorrow.

Why Your Business Should Become a Partner

By joining the Fit2Lead initiative, your business will have the opportunity to mentor Miami-Dade’s youth through paid internships that help prepare them for their future careers. Once you complete the required vetting process, your business will be added to the list of available internship placements. These paid internships are made possible through Mayor Daniella Levine Cava’s Peace and Prosperity Plan, ensuring that the youth receive meaningful employment while developing the skills necessary for success.

Interns will earn $13.88 per hour, working 20 hours per week throughout the summer. This structured experience offers invaluable learning opportunities, helping students build skills in social, emotional, and mental health, while simultaneously boosting their academic performance and overall well-being. The program is designed to foster long-term behavioral and academic improvements, allowing interns to thrive in both their personal and professional lives.

      The Impact of Fit2Lead Internships

The Fit2Lead program offers more than just summer employment; it is a platform for mentorship, skill-building, and personal growth. By participating as a partner, your business will not only contribute to the success of these young individuals but also cultivate the next generation of leaders. Interns will gain hands-on experience in their chosen fields, working alongside professionals who can provide them with insights and guidance that will serve them throughout their academic and career journeys.

This initiative aligns with Strive305’s mission of empowering Miami-Dade’s youth through leadership development, education, and community engagement. The program is an excellent opportunity for businesses to give back to the community while also investing in a diverse talent pipeline that will benefit your organization in the future.

      How to Get Involved

If your business is interested in joining the Fit2Lead program as a partner, the process is simple. First, you’ll need to go through a vetting process to ensure that your business meets the program’s requirements. Once approved, your business will be listed among the available internships for eligible students.

Additionally, if you know students who would benefit from participating in the program, encourage them to apply. Fit2Lead is open to all students who want to gain work experience and develop critical life skills. Interested students can reach out to the Fit2Lead Office directly at 305-222-2188 or via email at Fit2LeadInterns@miamidade.gov to learn more and apply. To qualify, students must be 15-19 years of age, in high school and residing in Miami-Dade County, who are not already involved in Summer related activities (i.e., sports, clubs, band, dual enrollment).

For businesses interested in becoming partners, please contact Eric Hansen via email at Eric.Hansen@miamidade.gov. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of local youth while also enhancing your business’s involvement in the community.

      A Step Towards a Stronger Miami-Dade

The Fit2Lead program represents a powerful opportunity to make an impact on the future of Miami-Dade’s youth while creating a more connected, supportive community. By collaborating with Strive305, the Miami-Dade Office of Neighborhood Safety, and Parks, Recreation, and Open Spaces, businesses can play a pivotal role in fostering leadership and resilience among the county’s young people.

Join us in making a difference by becoming a Fit2Lead program partner today. Together, we can help create brighter futures for Miami’s youth while shaping the next generation of leaders.
