The Superintendent’s 5K Challenge – A Race for Education is scheduled for Saturday, Apr. 1, 7 a.m.-noon, at Museum Park, 1075 Biscayne Blvd.
The Foundation for New Education Initiatives (FNEI) and Miami-Dade Schools superintendent Alberto M. Carvalho are teaming up to host the second 5K Challenge to benefit Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS).
All participants running for a school team will help FNEI support their school. FNEI will donate a percentage of the proceeds back to each school, based on the amount raised.
The race starting line will be at Museum Park and the route goes around the MacArthur Causeway on to Watson Island and returns. Entry to the race is $30 per adult plus a $2.64 registration fee and $10 per student plus a $1.54 registration fee. Once you choose your tickets, you may select a school or administrative office from the dropdown menu on the registration site. Each team will require a team captain. The registration deadline is Mar. 25.
