The Continental Group (TCG), a FirstService Residential Management company, partnered with the Brickell Homeowners Association (BHA) to hold a neighborhood holiday celebration at 1814 Brickell Park on Thursday, December 13, 2012. The evening featured the lighting of the Christmas tree and Hanukkah Menorah. A special appearance by Santa Claus and music by Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church Choir rounded out the festivities.

The gathering was part of a BHA initiative to foster communication and goodwill among the condominium association communities in Downtown Miami’s Brickell Avenue. Inaugurated in June of 2012, 1814 Brickell Park is the area’s first park in over 40 years and it showcases the last remaining piece of steel from New York City’s World Trade Center. It was built to honor the victims of 9/11 and to represent the unification of the Brickell and New York City Financial Districts.

About the Brickell Homeowners Association

Brickell Homeowners Association (BHA) in Miami, Florida, represents more than 25,000 residential households living from the Miami River to the Rickenbacker Causeway, and from Biscayne Bay to I-95.

BHA was formed so that residents and those working in the Brickell community are a collaborative force to communicate common interests more effectively and mobilize support on important issues.
The Brickell Homeowners Association focuses on key quality of life issues such as crime prevention, traffic safety and beautification, communicating with elected leaders, government officials and the business community when needed. Miami City Hall and Miami-Dade County are monitored to be certain the views of the BHA are weighed in the decision-making process.

Evaluating proposed development to ensure compatibility with the neighborhood’s residential character is also an important function of the BHA. The BHA stays abreast of municipal planning and proposed zoning changes, conveying its interests to appropriate elected and appointed officials.
