For those focused on gas efficiency, the available 3.0-liter Duramax Turbo Diesel produces 460 pound-feet of torque and is one of the strongest.
Still, there are multiple engines to be considered including the 4.3-liter, which has 285 horsepower with 305 pound-feet of torque that runs on 16 miles per gallon in the city and 21 mpg on the highway. The 2.7-liter turbo, with 310 horsepower and 348 pound-feet of torque, gets 20 miles per gallon in the city and 23 mpg on the highway. The 5.3-liter V8, with 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque, gets 15 miles per gallon in the city and 21 mpg on the highway.
When looking at this vehicle, you immediately get a sense from its unmistakable front end and tall stance that there is a lot more you want to explore. Here are some of those things that got my attention.
The first six-function, multi-pro tailgate really opens the door to more ways to access and use the cargo bed. The design includes a highly functional corner-step on the rear bumper that helps make access to the cargo bed easier than ever.
The bottom line is that the truck looks really good. That is partly because the chrome accents, like on the SLE and SLT editions, add class and distinction to Sierra’s exterior. There also is the signature c-shaped LED lighting and large bold grille that make it clear that this truck is a great addition to the GMC family.
Some other great features include vertical recover hooks that come standard on both the two- and four-wheel drive versions of this amazing vehicle. There also is the x31 Off-Road package available that includes an integrated dual exhaust and all-terrain tires.
To top it all off, each Sierra 1500 model comes equipped with an impressive set of standard and available head-turning wheels. Some of the options include a 22-inch multi spoke wheel with polished aluminum that is bright and eye-catching. There also are 22-inch bright chrome wheels and 22-inch, six-spoke, dark silver aluminum wheels with machined accents, which are bold and fit in well with the 1500’s strong personality. I would recommend taking your time with the wheels because there are more options and all of them allow you to really customize the truck to your liking and personality.
At the end of the day, the 2021 GMC Sierra truly is a truck that will keep you interested, engaged and confident on the road for many years to come.
