The 2023 Nissan Kicks takes you into high gear

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Starting at $24,000, the 2023 Nissan Kicks is a sight to behold.

This athletic SUV delivers 31 miles per gallon in the city and 36 miles per gallon on the highway. It delivers this great performance on a 1.6-liter 122 horsepower engine with 114 pound-feet of torque.

I like the flexibility of this vehicle. The 2023 Nissan Kicks offers a few cargo configurations including smart storage and comfortable seating for five. Kicks also offers an available remote engine start that warms up the engine without you leaving your house, which is great on cold days. Yes, we do get those in Miami.

Here is another available package that I always appreciate: heat for the front seats, steering wheel and outside mirrors. It’s called “quick comfort” and it’s designed to make your drive as easy as it can be.

Just like your frost reduction, the engineers designed the seats with care and you in mind. Nissan calls them “zero gravity,” which refers to the support you get on long rides that feel like you are floating on a cloud.

Speaking of seats: Have you ever walked all the way from your parking space to your destination and realized you left an important item in the back seat? The 2023 Nissan Kicks is your memory assistant, sending you an alert if it detects something in the back seat. That is a nice feature that I haven’t seen in any other car. Nice job, Nissan.

The engineers also thought carefully about cargo space, making the 2023 Nissan Kicks a value for any type of outing or trip. Kick’s 60/40-split fold-down rear seat and maximum length of 57 inches offer flexible seating configurations to fit your lifestyle.

With 25.3 cubic feet of cargo volume behind the rear seats, Kicks has more than enough room to pack it all in. You can even fit a bike in there with the seats down, thanks to a lower trunk floor. And good news for taller drivers — the hatch is designed to accommodate someone up to six feet tall without bending.

Inside you get a clear, seven-inch color infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay integration.

For safety, you get automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, rear automatic braking and lane departure warning tech.

I really liked driving the 2023 Nissan Kicks. Give it a spin and tell me what you think.
