“By Art Africa Founder, Neil Hall and Malene Barnett, Founder, Black Artists + Designers Guild-Moderated by WLRN Reporter Nadege Green on December 5th at 6pm”
Art Africa Miami will host their annual thought-provoking conversation with Architect Neil Hall, AIA, and Designer Malene Barnett as they discuss the role of creators in transforming our heritage neighborhoods. The talk will be moderated by Nadege Green, Reporter for WLRN radio. This year’s theme is Beyond Representation: Trailblazing A Creative Path is a part of this discussion as the certainty of gentrification permeates throughout our cities. The Art +Community talk is designed for community involvement in the transformation of neighborhoods through the arts. Here, the community is not foreign to the arts; it is in it; it participates to its vitality; what comes out is a call and response rhythming the black aesthetic experience.
