The Spooktacular Spooky Symphony, presented by The Children’s Trust, returned with a one-hour in-person concert on Sunday, October 24, delighting hundreds of children and families yearning for a Halloween experience of years past. In its 12th edition, the Spooky Symphony featured the Alhambra Orchestra and Greater Miami Youth Symphony at the Miami-Dade County Auditorium.

Movie themes took center stage during this year’s Symphony, with dramatic classical pieces and projected videos depicting scenes from blockbuster films like Spiderman, Batman, Pirates of the Caribbean and more, brought to life by the orchestra. Those in attendance came in costume, enhancing the experience.

“As society moves closer to the way things were before, we are thrilled that the Spooky Symphony was able to be celebrated in person,” said The Children’s Trust President and CEO James R. Haj. “Some things just aren’t the same when done virtually and hearing the amazing orchestras performing these popular themes in person reminds us of that.”

While the Greater Miami Youth Symphony performed on-stage this year, the Alhambra Orchestra was projected via video. Huifang Chen conducted the Greater Miami Youth Symphony and The Alhambra Orchestra was conducted by Daniel Andai.
