By Alina T. Hudak, President & CEO, FIFA World Cup 26 Miami Host Committee

As someone who has spent nearly four decades serving our community in various forms of public office, I know firsthand that major events have the power to leave a lasting legacy. When planned with vision and executed with great care, we don’t just host events — we create opportunity, build enduring value, and shine on the world stage.
Now, with FIFA World Cup 26™ ahead of us, we have another once-in-a-generation chance to show the world who we really are. As one of just 11 U.S. host cities, Miami has the honor and the responsibility, to deliver a world-class experience that benefits not only our visitors, but also the residents and businesses that make our city thrive.
Hosting an event of this magnitude requires more than stadiums and fan zones — it demands visionary planning, strong public-private collaboration, and a shared commitment to building a lasting legacy. The Miami Host Committee was established to lead this effort, ensuring that every operational, logistical, and community-facing need is met with excellence.
Through strategic investments in transportation, volunteer training, event staffing, marketing, public safety, and community outreach, Miami will be ready to welcome nearly a million visitors. But these efforts extend far beyond the tournament — they are critical infrastructure that will strengthen the foundation of our city for years to come.
The benefits are real and proven. The 2020 Super Bowl brought $572 million to South Florida’s economy. The 2022 Formula 1 Grand Prix added over $350 million. FIFA World Cup 26™ is expected to surpass both — driving an estimated $1.3 billion in economic impact and creating thousands of jobs across key sectors like hospitality, transportation, event services, and more.
To realize this vision, we need everyone at the table.
In the spirit of collaboration that defines Miami, we invite all sectors of our community to come together around this historic opportunity:
We call on the public sector — local, state, and federal partners — to help deliver the infrastructure, policy support, and services needed to ensure a seamless experience for residents and guests alike.
We call on the private sector — from major corporations to neighborhood entrepreneurs — to step forward with investment, innovation, and partnership.
And we are confident that our community leaders will work alongside us to ensure this World Cup is inclusive, impactful, and representative of the spirit of Miami.
The Miami Host Committee is committed to transparency, accountability, and partnership. We are actively engaging across all sectors to fulfill the promises made when we secured our place on the global stage — and we need your help to deliver.
This is more than a tournament — it’s a defining moment for our city. A chance to showcase our vibrancy, resilience, and hospitality to the world. A chance to invest in our future.
Miami’s moment is here. Let’s rise to it — together.
Let’s deliver a World Cup that only Miami can.
