Tri-Rail’s “Winter Wonderland” presented by Herzog returns to Tri-Rail’s Miami Airport Station, 3861 NW 21 St., on Saturday, Dec. 9, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The free, family-friendly event will feature interactive games, food trucks, holiday carolers, face painting, cookie decorating, bounce houses, a coloring station, festive costumed characters, photos with Tri-Rail’s mascot Conductor George Green, and a special appearance by Santa.
“We are thrilled to bring back Tri-Rail’s ‘Winter Wonderland’ to Miami and celebrate the holiday season,” said Commissioner Raquel Regalado, SFRTA Governing Board chair. }We invite South Florida families to spend some quality time onboard the train and ride to our festive holiday event.”
Attendees will enjoy holiday tunes by the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music carolers, plus onstage live entertainment by Santa Claus and local singers who performed at Tri-Rail’s South Florida Kids Got Talent competition.
Children and families also will enjoy interactive activities from HistoryMiami Museum and the Museum of Discovery and Science, photo opportunities with costumed characters, including Tri-Rail’s Conductor George Green. Food will be available for purchase from food truck vendors for tacos and ice cream.
Eventgoers are encouraged to ride the train to the event. Tickets are $5 to ride Tri-Rail for the entire day or $2.50 for those who have a registered discount EASY Card. Kids under 5 years old always ride for free.
