SWARM, an industry leader in transforming full-circle events that produces over 100-plus experiences, with over two million event goers per year such as Grovetoberfest, Basel House and Wynwood Life, along with annual partnership ventures such as the 57-year-old Coconut Grove Arts Festival, recently announced that Albert Maloof Berdellans III has joined its executive team, as vice president of marketing.

Berdellans brings extraordinary depth and breadth of related experience to this role, having served most recently as head of marketing for Ultra Music Festival, where he held various roles since 2012.

Founded by Miami’s top event producers with over 30 years of experience, SWARM has worked with leading national and global industries to deliver seamlessly executed and highly compelling events. Its portfolio ranges from high-profile conferences, world technology conventions, and sports sponsorship activations to food and beverage festivals, live music concerts with award-winning artists and arts festivals.

“This is an exciting opportunity for me, because SWARM has been making great strides and producing such wonderful events,” Berdellans said. “Their customers love them, but most people have no idea that SWARM is the one hosting some of their favorite events.

Establishing that name recognition is my priority. From there, we’ll continue the successful tradition that has worked so far — hosting memorable, affordable, exciting events that surprise and delight people throughout South Florida.”

Berdellans oversaw Ultra’s marketing strategy for the last several years, first as marketing and new media manager, and most recently as director of marketing and communications.

Under his watch, Ultra transformed from a Miami-based festival brand with only a few shows per year into an international powerhouse, hosting dozens of events in nearly 30 countries and six continents.

“Building signature and iconic events in South Florida is what we do, but at the core of this is our ability to get thousands of people together at one time, in one place — that is why we are called “SWARM,” explains Javi Zayas, president. Ranked No. 98 Fastest Growing Business in America by Inc. Magazine, SWARM was ranked No. 5 in its list of Top Miami Companies, No. 11 in its list of Top Florida Companies, and No. 11 in the list of Top Advertising & Marketing Companies in America. Being included in the top 2 percent of this competitive list serves as a testament of SWARM’s evolution over the years.

SWARM will continue to invest in its future growth and success, by bringing top talent to its team.

“Adding Albert to our team takes us to another level, and we look forward to expanding our creativity and expertise in areas we’ve just begun to tap,” said Tony Albelo, SWARM CEO, who always is looking for highly skilled individuals to form part of the dynamic team.

“Albert’s talent will allow us to expand our partnerships, and together, we will position SWARM as a major event-production company in the United States. We can’t wait to see what the future will bring.”
