In honor of Art Basel Miami Beach, the College of Arts and Sciences Art and Art History Department presents the fourth annual Cane Fair featuring artwork of UM students earning their master’s in Fine Arts.

Works on display include photography, sculpture, prints, installation, ceramics, painting and more. The exhibition will run from Nov. 29 to Jan. 27, 2012.

Artists featured in this exhibition include Jacqueline Gopie (painting), Sean Black (photography), Abraham Camayd (printmaking), Michelle Roy (graphic design), Cynthia Fleischmann (photography), Leah Brown (sculpture), among others.

The MFA program is a 60-credit, three-year program resulting in a terminal degree that prepares students to enter the professional studio art world and qualifies them for college teaching. Entrance into the program is highly competitive with applicants coming from across the country and internationally as well.

The Cane Fair will take place at the Wynwood Project Space in conjunction with Art Basel Miami Beach 2011. The Wynwood Project Space is located at 2200-A NW Second Avenue. There will be two opening receptions — on Saturday, Dec. 3, 6 to 10 p.m., and Dec. 10, 2 to 9 p.m. Other viewing times can be arranged by appointment.
