More than a dozen volunteers from UnitedHealthcare recently unpacked, pumped and set up new sports equipment at Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade’s Hank Kline Club.

Their efforts were part of UnitedHealthcare’s national Step Up for Summer challenge to reduce childhood obesity and make overall health a priority year-round.

UnitedHealthcare donated $10,000 for the equipment distributed to all three Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade, one of six such donations around the country in support of the national campaign. Joe Velasco, chief growth officer at UnitedHealthcare in Florida, presented the ceremonial check to Alex Rodriguez-Roig, president of Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade.
