Upper Buena Vista announces first round of artisanal tenants

Upper Buena Vista, the creative cooperative coming to one of Miami’s burgeoning neighborhoods, has announced the first round of artisanal tenants that will call the inspirational oasis, located on NE Second Avenue between 50th Street and 50th Terrace, their home.

On course to become Miami’s first micro boutique outdoor village, the bohemian sanctuary of vibrant makers, wellness gurus and homegrown culinary concepts will be a refuge for creativity, making it the ideal location for community-focused artisans.

The property is offering tenants of all kinds an affordable opportunity to showcase their unique work and grow business with long-term leases. They will occupy various micro and petite boutique spaces throughout the locally driven lifestyle destination, embracing the city’s current progressive movement to support smaller businesses.

The space is bringing the innovative movement towards all things micro to South Florida from New York to London and beyond. Small is emerging as the next big trend. Meeting the demand of the next demographic — specifically millennials — the micro trend embraces consumers seeking a personal retail and living experience that moves away from big districts and instead focuses on smaller, hip zones.

Scheduled to open this summer, the sanctuary-style commercial space will be concealed from busy city life by a variety of lush vegetation including two longstanding canopy-like trees accenting thoughtful craftsmanship.

The initial list of boutique tenants includes:
Contesta Rock Hair: An Italian brand salon, founded in Rome, with a rock ‘n’ roll soul, inspired to create and invent around a singular haircut technique. Previously located on Miami Beach, the 13 globally recognized salons cater to the stars and can be found in cities across the world including Rome, Florence, New York, Shanghai and Miami. The brand has been featured in Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Nylon, Elle and Wallpaper. To learn more, visit www.sdemis.com.

Sew On Set Tailor: A custom alteration and tailoring shop providing personal attention to specialty garments for the perfect fit. As a longtime local craftsman, the portfolio of experienced tailors, seamstresses and dressmakers enjoy working with young neighborhood professionals plus collaborations with the Design District couture shops, high profile celebrities and photo shoot productions. Upper Buena Vista’s design has been hand-crafted to showcase a variety of global perspectives. Inspiration throughout the property will adhere to elements drawn from four ‘T’ cities: Tel Aviv, Thong Sala, Tokyo and Tulum — collectively combined with a Miami twist. The property will consist of retail shops, made up of 17 micro boutiques and 5 petite boutiques. Engulfed in greenery and lush foliage, it will feature crafted wood finishes accented with industrially distressed materials.

Situated just north of Miami’s Design District and Buena Vista neighborhoods, Upper Buena Vista is a community-driven lifestyle destination that embraces Miami’s progressive evolution. A tranquil enclave where specialty retail, hospitality and wellness coalesce, Upper Buena Vista reactivates one of Miami’s most charming neighborhoods, offering a synergistic mix of concepts by established brands, local craftsmen and aspiring entrepreneurs.

Stemmed from a passion to support businesses it believes in, Upper Buena Vista embraces Miami’s culture, and injects it with global flare. It honors the locale, while welcoming international concepts, to create an experiential atmosphere where newcomers and longstanding businesses can both thrive.
