Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday at Venetian Parc Academy to celebrate the completion of the school’s main building.
“One thing that speaks to what this school is, is the word ‘trailblazer.’ Let’s not underestimate it—this school is really a vision of what the future can hold for students,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Jose L. Dotres.
Dr. Dotres highlighted the school’s two new Pre-K classes, which follow an innovative learning program based on the Reggio Emilia model, an approach that encourages student-led learning guided by creativity. This learning can be through writing and reading but also through art, music, drama and many other modes of expression.

The building features seven kindergarten classrooms, twenty primary classrooms, and ten intermediate classrooms, two exceptional student education (ESE) classrooms, in addition to a skills development lab, an art room, and a music room.
The new facility also includes a media center, administration and student services offices, a full kitchen and dining room, a PE shelter, a playground, and two hard courts, as well as staff and visitor parking.
Veitia Padron, Inc., was the contractor for the $24 million project, which accommodates 750 students. Currently, the school only has grades pre-K through second grade, but plans to add a grade each year as the older students move to the next grade.
“With this ribbon cutting, this is no longer just a building. These walls belong to our children, our teachers, and the entire school community,” said Venetian Parc Academy Principal Yamberli N. Cruz. “This place is now a place where our students will build friendships. They’re going to create memories. They’re going to learn and they’re going to grow into the innovative leaders we know that they can be.”
The school bond projects resulted from voter approval of the $1.2 billion General Obligation Bond. The bond is being used to modernize and construct school buildings throughout the District, expand student capacity, enhance facility safety, and provide technology upgrades at all schools.
Parents are invited to secure their child’s future in this trailblazing educational environment. Venetian Parc Academy, is now accepting applications for its growing student body (Pre-K through 3rd grade).
