Under the baton of artistic director and conductor Andrey Boreyko, the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra will conclude its exclusive Florida tour on Apr. 5, at 8 p.m., with a highly anticipated concert at the Adrienne Arsht Center in Miami.

The Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra, under the baton of artistic director Andrey Boreyko, has chosen Florida for an exclusive six-date U.S. tour with Canadian pianist Bruce Liu. Liu is riding high on his monumental 2021 win at the 18th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition.

The Warsaw Philharmonic and maestro Boreyko first encountered Liu in October 2021 when he became one of 12 finalists at the prestigious International Chopin Competition in Warsaw. During the final round of the competition, 4 million people world-wide tuned in to watch the live-stream of Liu’s performance of Chopin’s Concerto in E minor, Op. 11 on YouTube. Millions more tuning in via Polish radio and television. This performance propelled Liu to the podium as winner.

This short concert tour of Florida will present U.S. audiences with a great opportunity to experience a taste of the excitement surrounding the International Chopin Piano Competition. Since his stunning win in Warsaw, Liu has been on an extended concert tour, playing to sold-out halls in Japan, South Korea, Brazil, Israel and many European countries.

This will be the first chance for audiences in the U.S. to experience the Canadian pianist’s mastery live in concert with the very same orchestra that he performed with in Warsaw.

The Warsaw Philharmonic has made over 150 concert tours around five continents and has appeared in all of the world’s major concert venues, each time receiving high acclaim from audiences and critics alike for its superb and charismatic interpretations. The ensemble has performed at many prestigious international festivals, including in Vienna, Berlin, Prague, Bergen, Lucerne, Montreux, Moscow, Brussels, Florence, Bordeaux, Athens, Bilbao, Lisbon, and Tokyo, as well as at the La Folle Journée Festival in Nantes.

The Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra participates regularly in the International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition, Warsaw Autumn International Festival of Contemporary Music, Chopin and His Europe International Music Festival, and Ludwig van Beethoven Easter Festival. It has recorded for Polish Radio, Polish and foreign record labels, and film companies.

Bruce (Xiaoyu) Liu grew up in Montreal. His life has been steeped in cultural diversity, which has shaped his differences in attitude, personality and character. He draws on various sources of inspiration for his art: European refinement, Chinese millennial tradition, North American dynamism and openness. Having followed his artist path with optimism and a smile, he studied with Richard Raymond, and is currently a student of Dang Thai Son. Tickets for his recital in Warsaw, on Mar. 1, which marks the 212th anniversary of Chopin’s birth, were sold out in just seven minutes.

The program includes:
