TEDxYOUTH@Miami: Sharing powerful ideas worth spreading

In the spirit of allowing the youth of the community to share powerful ideas worth spreading, TEDxYOUTH@Miami will take place on Friday, Feb. 26, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Adrienne Arsht Center.

It is the fifth year that The Cushman School has supported and coordinated this local TEDx event which showcases selected South Florida students, from 6 to 25 years of age, allowing them to share ideas and experiences that evoke passion, solicit curiosity and ignite creativity in others.

In the spirit of TED and TEDx’s “ideas worth sharing,” the young speakers, from both private and public schools, will connect the community through intimate, deep discussion about how we can impact the world.

General admission tickets are $25 and will be sold through the Arsht Center box office or by visiting www.arshtcenter.org. For ongoing updates and additional information, visit www.tedxyouthmiami.com.

TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. Started as a four-day conference in California 27 years ago, TED has grown to support those world-changing ideas with multiple initiatives. At TED, the world’s leading thinkers and doers are asked to give the talk of their lives in 18 minutes. Talks are then made available, free, at TED.com. TED speakers have included Bill Gates, Jane Goodall, Elizabeth Gilbert, Sir Richard Branson, Benoit Mandelbrot, Philippe Starck, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Isabel Allende and former UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown.
